Current information technology for teaching mathematics at primary school
Feyglová, Sandra ; Slussareff, Michaela (advisor) ; Drobíková, Barbora (referee)
Keywords 1st grade of elementary education (6-12 years old children), didactics of mathematics, history of didactics of mathematics, information technology, inclusive education, mathematics and its applications, mobile apps, framework education programme, teaching, education, primary school Abstract The bachelor theses deals with the topic of current usage of information technology in Math classes at elementary schools using the broad theoretical context of historical and contemporary Math education from the view of didactics of mathematics, legislation and practice. In the first half of the text, the theses characterizes historical evolution from the very beginning to the present. In this part it deals with the legislative framework determining the actual practice of Math education at the Czech elementary schools: curricular documents emitted by the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of the Czech Republic, preparation, qualification and further education of pedagogical workers - Math teachers; briefly it explains the inclusive education in today Czech Republic. The theses also shortly describes the most common approaches to Math teaching. The second half is the fundamental part of the theses. It outlines convenient information technology for education and especially presents the case study of using...
Didactical situations for teaching functions at the lower secondary level
Krůtová, Michaela ; Novotná, Jarmila (advisor) ; Vondrová, Naďa (referee)
This thesis deals with the possible way to use the Theory of didactic situations in the second level of Czech primary schools. The main topic of the experiment is the introduction of functions in the 9th grade of primary schools. The entire work is divided into two parts - theoretical and experimental. The theoretical part is focused on introduction of the Theory of didactic situations and processing the topic in the educational materials used in the Czech Republic. It also deals with the historical development of the topic of functions in the Czech curricula. In this context, the author conducted a survey, the purpose of which was primarily the view of a primary school mathematics teacher on teaching of functions and on changes that recently accompany the Czech school system. In the experimental part, the author presents detailed information about the educational block processed and implemented according to the principles of the Theory of didactic situations. The aim of the experiment was to watch the reaction of students to the concept of teaching according to the Theory of didactic situations and to evaluate their success in relation to the desired outcomes of the topic. The thesis describes the preparation, progress and evaluation of the prepared educational unit.
Influence of Second Language on Communication in bilingual teaching and learning of Mathematics
Ernyeiová, Jana
This work refers to the topic of bilingual mathematics education. It is focused on monitoring the communicational influences of teacher's and pupil's language, categorization of the disturbing effects and possibilities, how the teacher should prepare for them and how to solve them. A significant role plays the reflection of the teacher, as the results were done on the basis of action research during teaching in England, Germany and the Czech Republic. The teaching was realized in a second language as well for the teacher as for the pupils. The teacher was at the same time experimenter as well as author of this work. The theoretical part results from dealing with scientific literature about bilingualism, bilingual education, methodology of CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning), relations between first language, language of mathematics and the foreign language. In the practical part an analysis of lessons performed in mathematics with the subject of probability is carried out. The teaching was focused on playing a game with dice and deciding whether the game is fair or not. The lessons were audio taped and transcriptions of the spoken language were made. An analysis of the language, teacher's mistakes, communicational interference, proportional relations on communication of the pupils and...
Learning motivation of pupils at primary school
Panáčková, Pavlína ; Hejlová, Helena (advisor) ; Slezáková, Jana (referee)
Pavlína Panáčková Učitelství pro první stupeň ZŠ 5. ročník ABSTRACT (MOTIVATION OF PUPILS FOR LEARNING AT PRIMARY SCHOOL) The master thesis deals with motivational quality of semantic support during teaching at first grade at primary school. The theory section consists of four parts. The first part concerns motivation and its sources and motivational problems at school and at the same time it is about communication. The specifics of learning pupils at primary schoo are in chapter 2. The last part deals with the didactic justification of the evocative and motivational function of semantic support for learning. At the same time we are looking for an answer to the question. Does semantics have more meaning in some subjects depending on the type of learning? The aim of the practical part is to find the answer to the question: How does the using of semantic supports influence the pupils' knowledge and their relation to learning? The research contains interviews of the teachers with main topic of semantics and its application during teaching. At the same time, the questionnaire survey is applied to pupils of the third class which compares three types of Mathematics - classical mathematics, Hejny method with semantic focus and Hejny method focused structurally. The thesis contains results evaluation of...
Structural Mathematics in High School
Beran, Filip ; Kvasz, Ladislav (advisor) ; Boček, Leo (referee)
What exactly can we understand by "structural mathematics"? Mathematical structures was a concept which dominated images of mathematics of the twentieth century. It was followed by an effort to transpose the work of Nicolas Bourbaki and his contemporaries into high school education. Progress and results of so-called "modernization of school mathematics" were often received with criticism and hesitation. Using didactical-mathematical concepts of constructivism, languages of mathematics and their various representations and instrumental realism we analyze the principal reasons of that failure. Concurrently we show how it is possible to revive its teaching by broader conception of "structuring" in mathematics. So from mathematical structures we gradually pass to structural mathematics.

Functional thinking of high school students
Janda, David ; Pilous, Derek (advisor) ; Vondrová, Naďa (referee)
The aim of the thesis Functional thinking of high school students is an analysis and descrip- tion of chosen aspects of function theory at high school, which seems to be problematic. The first chapter of the thesis summarizes basic theoretical concepts of didactics of mathematics focusing on and describing selected researches in the framework of aspects. The second part deals with the analysis of the research realized in standard math lessons at high school. The final chapter of the thesis recapitulates the results of the research from the points of view of particular aspects and discuses their importance and the way of utilization in education.
